Roadmap

What shipped, what is next

Protocol changes go through governance, so dates for work in progress depend on the vote. Every item links back to its proposal once one exists.

2025 – Q3 2026

Shipped

  • Harbour: parallel execution

Independent transactions execute in parallel; fee lanes for busy programs.

  • 14-day unbonding

Shorter withdrawal time, with evidence windows kept intact.

  • Second validator client

    keel reached 27% of stake.

Q4 2026

In progress

  • Passkey-signed transactions

Phones sign with a passkey instead of a recovery phrase (proposal OP-42).

  • Tern client audit

Two independent audits before Tern may exceed 10% of stake.

  • Higher compute limit

From 48 M to 60 M units per block, subject to vote OP-41.

2027

Next

  • Light-client bridges by default

Every official bridge route verifies the other chain on-chain.

  • Confidential transfers

Amounts hidden, parties visible, with auditor keys for businesses.

  • Stateless validators

Validators verify blocks without holding full state, lowering hardware costs.
